Bringing Joy East of the Cooper Since 1984

We’re a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit spreading Christmas cheer and support to families East of the Cooper (in South Carolina) who need it most. No elves on payroll, just big-hearted locals doing good.

We’re Basically Santa’s Local Chapter

Friends of Santa started with a group of teachers and a chili cookoff. Today, we’re a volunteer run nonprofit helping families East of the Cooper feel supported, seen, and celebrated not just at Christmas, but all year long. We provide food, clothing, gifts, school supplies, and the occasional washer/dryer. No sleigh required.

We may not live at the North Pole, but we’ve got warm hearts and a solid wrapping station.

Our Seasonal Giving Initiatives

  • Christmas Giving

We partner with school social workers to make sure no child is left out of the holiday magic. Toys, clothes, food, and love wrapped and delivered, no reindeer needed.

  • Stock the Closets

In spring, we provide hygiene essentials, swimsuits, and basics to help kids feel confident heading into summer. No frills, no fluff. Just real help for real families.

  • Christmas in July

It’s 100 degrees outside, and we’re already planning Christmas. Our midyear fundraiser helps us gear up for the season before the eggnog hits.
